Noctis
Support
Help with setting up and using Noctis. If you can't find what you need here, email us and we'll help.
To help us help you faster, include your iPhone and Apple Watch models, their iOS and watchOS versions, which version of Noctis you're using, and what happened. Screenshots help too.
Getting started
- Install Noctis on your iPhone from the App Store. You'll need iOS 17 or later.
- Check that Noctis is on your Apple Watch (watchOS 10 or later). If it didn't install automatically, open the Watch app on your iPhone, tap My Watch, scroll to Available Apps, and tap Install next to Noctis.
- Open Noctis on your iPhone and allow access to Apple Health when asked. The more categories you allow, the more Noctis can tell you.
- Wear your Apple Watch to bed. Your personal normal ranges take shape as Noctis sees more of your nights.
Apple Health access
Noctis can only use the Health data you allow. To check or change what it can read, open Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → Noctis on your iPhone and turn on the categories you want to share.
If you turn a category off, the scores that depend on it may show as empty until you turn it back on.
My sleep isn't showing up
Noctis uses the sleep data your Apple Watch records in Apple Health. If a night is missing, check these:
- Sleep tracking is on. In the Watch app on your iPhone, tap My Watch → Sleep and make sure Track Sleep with Apple Watch is turned on. If you haven't set up Sleep yet, do it in the Health app under Browse → Sleep.
- Your Apple Watch had enough charge. Apple recommends charging it to at least 30% before bed. You can turn on Charging Reminders in the same Sleep settings.
- You wore your Apple Watch snugly all night.
- The night appears in the Health app under Browse → Sleep. If Apple Health doesn't have it, Noctis won't either.
The Smart Alarm didn't go off as expected
- Check your alarm time and wake window in Noctis.
- Wear your Apple Watch to bed with enough charge to last until morning. The gentle tap comes from your Apple Watch.
- Allow notifications for Noctis in Settings → Notifications → Noctis, so the backup alarm on your iPhone can reach you.
- Focus modes and your iPhone's ring and silent settings can affect sounds, so check them if the backup alarm was quiet.
- If light sleep doesn't come during your wake window, Noctis wakes you at your set time. That's expected.
For anything you can't afford to miss, set a second alarm.
Some measurements are missing
- Blood oxygen and wrist temperature are only recorded by certain Apple Watch models and in certain regions.
- Wrist temperature needs about five nights of wear before Apple Watch establishes your baseline.
- VO₂ max is estimated by Apple Watch during outdoor walks, runs and hikes, so it appears after you've recorded some.
- Weight and body fat come from Apple Health. Add them in the Health app or with a connected scale.
Your data
Your health data stays on your iPhone and Apple Watch. We never receive it, which also means we can't restore it for you.
To delete everything Noctis has stored, delete the app from your iPhone and Apple Watch. Your original data stays in Apple Health. Read the Privacy Policy for the full details.
